Pruning 1999
THE LAST MCM STONE
We have traditionally inscribed our winery projects with the year of construction, in most cases carved out of stone in Roman numerals.
The initial concept for our 1999 structure was to establish a secure home for our inventory of hazardous substances, which needed to be at some distance from the main winery buildings, but not too far.
We found a spot in tile middle of the garden, an elevated position overlooking the vineyard. It then grew into a two-storied arrangement, with the top being what we call our "triclinium". (The triclinium was the semi-outdoor dining room of Roman homes)
Meanwhile we are thinking up our next construction job, and whether we'll do it next year. It worries me, that if we do, that they'll be asking if it was built by Mickey Mouse.
